"Some seven months ago,we purchased a home on Sydney's North Shore and on occupation, we became aware of a strong musty smell in the three bedrooms. Having used sub-floor ventilation in a previous home, we obtained quotes from two suppliers which included UltraFan which we selected to undertake the sub-floor fan installation. We were impressed with the energy efficient fan system and the fact that the fans ran quietly for half the day, a factor which we believe contributes to a more effective drying process. Within a very short period of time, the strong smell started to disappear to the extent that we no longer have this problem. We have an inner-west terrace house, which has the typical poor undfloor ventilation of old terraces. After searching the web, I got several quotes and asked lots of questions to identify a company to fix the problem. Having  renovated our house, the finishings/apprearance of the vents were important to us (as well as correcting the damp). Ultrafan completely solved my problem! During a period of wet weather my dining area’s new flooring became so swollen that it was like walking uphill to enter. With old terra cotta vents, the sub-floor ventilation was hopelessly inadequate, despite the sub-floor cavity having been enlarged during the renovation. Installing just one Ultrafan, ducted across the problem area, saw the swollen flooring gently return to normal and stabilise. It has been smooth sailing ever since, with no relapse. Ultrafan is the active solution – moving air makes sense!
